Why RD Exam Content is Boring to Study
Sometimes, studying for the RD Exam can be extremely boring.
One of the concepts I discovered while researching learning and memory science to study for the RD Exam (Registered Dietitian Examination) is that not all information and conversations are interesting to our brains.
Neuroscientists call this behavioral relevance.
But what does this mean?
Your brain naturally pays more attention to things that are more relevant to you. For example, if you’re studying renal disease and find it boring, try to recall a patient with renal disease from your dietetic internship and use details from their case to create a clear connection to renal-related subtopics you’re studying right now for the RD Exam.
It’s simple, free, and it actually livens up the study session in a subtle way.
In this super short video, I share three simple questions you can ask yourself to make your RD Exam content more relevant to you.
